3. Don’t get sick. There are illnesses that can be avoided through vaccinations, hygiene, and precautions (such as mosquito repellant in areas with malaria) and keeping away from contagious people. Other illnesses can be prevented by handling and cooking food properly. The main idea is to use common sense. Wash food and the surfaces they touch. Cook food thoroughly. Wash your hands with soap when you’ve touched things that sick people might have touched, such as the poles in the train, money, etc. Just like you probably learned as a child. Also, go and get a medical check-up on a regular basis, especially as you get older. Take the meds your physician recommends.
