Isaac Asimov lectures (This is audio only) on the occasion of receiving the American Humanist Association of the Humanist of the Year Award in 1984. The title of the talk is Big Brother is Watching. With much humor Asimov says that God is the ultimate Big Brother who sees everything and is responsible for everything. Asimov compares the early inventions and scientific discoveries to the approach to take to understanding what is now explained by God. He tells of Ben Franklin’s experiments on lightning and the invention of lightning rods.
He tells stories of the exchanges he has with letter writers who want to debate creationism. He explains why he is a rational person and a humanist.
